GREEN AGAVE

Full sun. A striking small evergreen agave: rugged, broad blue-grey leaves record ghostly imprints of the adjacent foliage. The leaves are sharply toothed with brownish-red spines; yellow flowers appear at the end of the life cycle. Give this agave excellent drainage in stony soil and protect from overwatering; it doesn’t create many pups. Drought tolerant; cold hardy to 15 degrees. Deer may be attracted to agaves for use in scratching velvet.
